About FVA-Freeport

Fusion Volleyball Academy, focused in Freeport, is part of an elite junior volleyball club sanctioned through USA Volleyball and the Great Lakes Region. The FVA program starts in December and concludes in April at a fun, competitive multiple day event at the WI Dells Sports Center. Our teams compete in 1-2 tournaments per month throughout the season in locations such as: Freeport, Machesney Park, Marengo, Aurora, etc. Players have at least two 2 hour team practices per week at our "home site" the Fitness Lifestyles Center (FLC). Our home has undergone many cosmetic changes and has new sport court and 3 courts. The FLC provides FVA with the opportunity to have multiple teams practicing at one time enabling quality scrimmage time within our teams. Quality touches and technique are the cornerstone for our athletes success. FVA trains its athletes under a "lead coach" system of training. This is a proven system that provides a consistent progression of teaching the skills of volleyball within each age division. This creates a more competitive practice environment and promotes the development of individual skill. For example, an athlete on a 15-3 team will receive the same technical training as an athlete on the 15-1 team. As the "Lead Coach" will be responsible for developing many of the practice plans for that age division. Along with the Lead Coaches FVA has a Coaching Director that designs club warm-ups for the start of each practice. Club warm-ups allow our athletes to be coached by other age division coaches as well providing a family atmosphere. All FVA coaches are Impact certified and attend multiple coaching clinics with the top college and club coaches in the area. FVA believes that teaching proper technique and fundamentals by our unified coaching staff in a fun intense environment will provide our athletes with a strong foundation for their level of success.

Multi-Sport Athletes
FVA provides flexibility for the multi-sport athlete. The FVA staff works to design a practice schedule that works best for each individual team, working around athletes other scheduled commitments as best as possible. FVA teams are practicing typically every day of the week allowing amble make-up times for our athletes if a conflict arises as well as opportunities for extra practice time for any athlete.

Recruiting Process is 2nd to none!
Club Fusion has a close relationship with so many of the college coaches, many of whom visit a Fusion facility on a weekly basis. The respect that these collegiate coaches have for Fusion athletes and coaches play a large part in Fusion’s success in the recruiting process. Another major factor in Fusion’s success in the recruiting process can be attributed to our recruiting director, Jim Mohr, and his dedication to finding the right school for each athlete. This is a free service offered to all Fusion families.

Fundraisers
*No fundraisers are sponsored directly by the club; however fundraiser opportunities are available through the Metro Center in Rockford. Contact Lynne Prather at FusionMetro@aol.com for more information.
